Nigeria: Family Crisis - Senator Nwoko, Regina Daniels in War of Words

10 November 2025

The once-celebrated marriage between Nollywood star Regina Daniels and billionaire politician Senator Ned Nwoko is now embroiled in a public storm of allegations and counterclaims, captivating social media and tabloids alike.

What began as a fairy-tale union in 2019 has descended into a series of explosive accusations, suggesting the relationship may be nearing a breaking point.

In the latest twist, Senator Nwoko claimed he had given N125 million to Regina's mother over the past two years, responding to reports that Regina accused him of neglecting her family.

Nwoko alleges that the marital breakdown stems from Regina's alleged drug and alcohol use, which he says led to violent episodes and property damage. He claimed she attacked three staff members within 48 hours and moved out of their home to a place with "unrestricted access to drugs."

To help her, he offered rehabilitation options in Abuja and abroad. Strongly denying domestic violence claims, he stated, "I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here."

Regina Daniels has strongly refuted Nwoko's claims.

In an emotional video, she admitted her family is "in turmoil" and insisted she married "for love, not money." She alleged that Nwoko used his influence to have her siblings arrested to pressure her into returning to rehab, warning that her youngest sister might be next. She vowed to protect her children and mother, urging the public to stop insulting her family.

The public fallout has sparked heated debate online, dividing sympathies between Regina and Nwoko. Viral videos and lengthy press statements continue to fuel speculation.

As both sides remain entrenched in their positions--Nwoko emphasizing rehabilitation, Regina demanding freedom and justice--the couple's future remains uncertain. The celebrity union now resembles a public courtroom drama, with love, power, and reputation all on trial.
