Nigeria: Kebbi - Lakurawa Terrorists Kill Customs Officer, Set Camp On Fire

An officer of the Nigeria Customs Service attached to Maje in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State has been reportedly killed by the Lakurawa terrorist group.

It was gathered the terrorists in large number attacked the customs camp at Maje, and killed one of the officers.

A local said, "The Lakurawa came in large numbers and started shooting sporadically at the officers at their camp, they set the camp on fire and killed one of the officers."

As at the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Customs Service Area Command in Kebbi State has not issued any official statement on the incident but its Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Tajudeen, confirmed the attack.

He said, "The attack actually happened but only the doctors can confirm if the officer is dead or not. We are at the hospital waiting for the doctor's report. After that, I will let you know."

Last week, terrorists abducted the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Sama'ila Bagudo in the same local government where the customs officer was killed.

A local who spoke to our correspondent said facilities at the customs camp were burnt during the attack.
