Fast-rising Nigerian gospel singer Sunmisola Agbebi has revealed that her music is not a product of her own creativity but a divine gift and expression of her relationship with God. According to her, every song she writes is inspired by spiritual encounters, not personal ambition or effort.
Speaking about her artistic journey, the "Koseunti" crooner explained that her songs often come to her in moments of deep prayer, worship, or reflection on scripture, describing them as messages entrusted to her by God rather than her own compositions.
"My relationship with God is the foundation of everything I do musically. I don't see songwriting as just me trying to put words together; it's really me documenting what God is doing in my life and in my spirit," she said.
"Sometimes a song comes during prayer, other times in worship or just from a scripture that suddenly becomes alive to me. I've realized that when I try to create on my own, it feels empty, but when I wait on God, He breathes on the melodies and words. That's why I always say the songs are not mine -- they're His."

For Sunmisola, music is a ministry, not a performance. She views herself as a vessel through which God reaches people, adding that her greatest desire is for listeners to encounter God through her songs.
"My role is simply to steward them faithfully so that when people listen, they don't just hear Sunmisola, but they encounter God," she added.
Born into a musically inclined Christian family, Sunmisola Agbebi began singing at the tender age of four. Her talent was evident early on, and she gained public attention after winning the Ikorodu Radio Music Challenge in 2017. Her powerful voice and deep spiritual connection have since made her one of the most promising voices in contemporary gospel music.
Over the years, she has achieved significant milestones, including hosting her own live recording concert, "AIIIH (As It Is In Heaven)," and performing on global platforms such as the Dubai Expo, where she shared the stage with Grammy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman.
In 2023, she tied the knot with fellow gospel artiste Yinka Okeleye, forming one of gospel music's most admired couples.
Her influence continues to grow internationally, with appearances on the African All-Star US Tour and a 2024 nomination for "Artist of the Year - Female" at the Kingdom Achievers Awards. Through her songs, Sunmisola Agbebi continues to inspire a generation of believers to embrace worship as a personal and spiritual experience. For her, gospel music is not about fame or recognition -- it's about faithfully echoing the voice of God to the world.
