Nigeria: FCT Poll - PDP Inaugurates Campaign Committee At Gwagwalada

Ahead of the February 21, 2026 chairmanship election, the Gwagwalada Area Council chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday inaugurated its campaign committee in the area.

The PDP chairman in the council, Alhaji Mohammed Shuaibu, announced that the committee has Alhaji Umar Zagwai as Director-General of Planning/Central Working Committee, Architect Suleiman Mohammed as Secretary, and Usman Babalado as Director-General of Media and Publicity.

Others inaugurated include the former chairman of the council, Alhaji Mustafa Adamu, as Chairman of the Elders/Caucus Committee, with Hajiya Ada Alimi as Secretary.

The PDP Chairman stated that the committee was put in place with the responsibility of embarking on a vigorous campaign to ensure the victory of the party's chairmanship and councillorship candidates across the 10 wards of the council.

He tasked the committee to reach out to every nook and cranny of the council to mobilize voters.

Also speaking, the PDP chairmanship candidate, Comrade Mohammed Kasim Ikwa, expressed appreciation to the committee and urged them to make their impact felt.

He also reacted to the social media rumour that he had allegedly collected N5 million from the ruling APC to withdraw from the race, denying the claim.
