Nigeria: Arise News Correspondent Appointed As Kogi Swan Caretaker Chairman

Lokoja — The Kogi State Correspondent of Arise News, Odimayo Olatunde Fredrick, has been appointed the Caretaker Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kogi State Chapter.

Odimayo'd appointment dated November 13, 2025, was conveyed in a letter signed by the SWAN General Secretary, Ikenna Okonkwo, copy of which was made available to Journalists in Lokoja on Sunday.

Also appointed was Bashiru Opaluwa, who will serve as the Caretaker Secretary of the association in the state.

According to the appointment letter, the decision followed the expiration of the tenure of the previous State Executive Committee and was made in accordance with SWAN's statutory provisions.

Responding shortly after receiving his letter of appointment, Odimayo expressed gratitude to the national body for the confidence reposed in him, promising to strengthen sports journalism in the state.

Odimayo, a seasoned journalist and sports enthusiast, has been active in the media industry for over a decade, covering major sporting and socio-political events across the state and beyond.
