Nigeria: Tinubu Lauds Senate for Swift Confirmation of Musa As Defence Minister

President Bola Tinubu has commended the Senate for swiftly confirming the nomination of the immediate-past Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (rtd), as Minister of Defence.

In a message posted on his X handle, President Tinubu stated that he had transmitted Musa's name to the Senate two days earlier and expressed appreciation for the lawmakers' prompt action.

"I want to commend the Nigerian Senate for its expedited confirmation of General Musa yesterday (Wednesday). His appointment comes at a critical juncture in our lives as a Nation," the President wrote.

He described General Musa as a "fine gentleman" and noted that his appointment holds significance for the country at this moment.

The President ended his message with a prayer: "God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria."
