Abuja — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transmitted a fresh list of non-career ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation, featuring several high-profile former public officials.

Topping the list is Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, former Chief of Naval Staff and immediate past Sole Administrator of Rivers State, who has now been nominated to join Nigeria's diplomatic corps.

Also nominated are former Minister of Interior and ex-Chief of Army Staff, Abdulrahman Dambazau; former Senator Ita Enang; and Chioma Ohakim, former First Lady of Imo State.

The new nominees, drawn from diverse professional and political backgrounds, are expected to bring extensive experience to Nigeria's foreign missions once confirmed by the upper chamber.
