Nigeria: ADC Vows to Take Bauchi, Intensifies Mobilisation

3 January 2026

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that it is fully prepared to remove the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power in Bauchi State in the 2027 general elections.

Chairman of the ADC Bauchi State Forum, Mr. Abubakar Muhammad Bibi, made the declaration yesterday after a Bauchi South zonal stakeholders' meeting of the party.

According to him, the meeting was aimed at mobilising new members and ensuring that stakeholders clearly understand the vision, ideology and objectives of the ADC.

Mr. Bibi acknowledged that the party had experienced minor internal challenges in the state but said these had been addressed through dialogue.

"There were some small crises within the party, but by coming together and engaging in discussions, we have been able to resolve them," he said.

He disclosed that the party had set up committees to authenticate and monitor its activities across the state to ensure that due process is followed.

Bibi expressed concern that some individuals had allegedly gone to local government areas to swear in party officials without proper authorisation, saying, "Such actions are not in the interest of the party. For any exercise to be valid, there must be clear guidelines from the national leadership down to the state level, and these guidelines must be strictly followed."
