Nigeria: Adamawa Planning Commission Reviews 10-Year Strategic Development Plan

11 January 2026

The Adamawa State Planning Commission has reviewed the draft 10-Year State Strategic Development Plan (2026-2035) at a board meeting held at the Commission's Conference Hall.

The meeting was chaired by the Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Planning Commission and brought together key government officials to assess the proposed long-term development framework for the state.

Honourable Commissioners from the Ministries of Finance; Agriculture; Budget and Economic Planning; Works and Energy; Water Resources; Commerce; and Labour and Productivity participated in the review, reflecting the broad, cross-sectoral scope of the plan.

The draft 10-Year Strategic Development Plan is designed as a comprehensive roadmap to guide Adamawa State's development over the next decade. It focuses on critical priority areas including economic diversification, infrastructure expansion, agricultural transformation, sustainable water resources management, and workforce development.

During the session, board members extensively reviewed and discussed the document, with emphasis on aligning sectoral strategies with the state's overall development vision and ensuring effective coordination across ministries.

The review process is expected to refine and strengthen the draft plan ahead of its finalisation. Once adopted, the 10-year strategic development plan will serve as a key policy blueprint for resource allocation, project prioritisation, and performance measurement across Adamawa State from 2026 to 2035.
