Artisans and apprentices were empowered with skills during the JamaJama Empowerment Day held in several parts of country.

Speaking at the event, the spokesperson for the organisers, Abiola Sadik, said the initiative created real opportunities for children and artisans while restoring hope to families.

"The event featured games and activities for children, alongside the distribution of books, food, and beverages. Children with developing skills also received basic tools to support their talents and encourage self-reliance," she said.

According to her, the moment symbolised JamaJama's broader mission identifying talent, creating access to work, and instilling confidence in the next generation.

She added that the Empowerment Day marked an early step in JamaJama's ongoing efforts to nurture creativity, support artisans, and contribute to building a stronger future for Nigeria and Africa.

She recalled a standout moment during the event when a father, after learning about the empowerment initiative, brought his eight-year-old son to the venue.

She added that the child, a young barber who had been cutting hair on the streets, was hired on the spot through the JamaJama platform as an artisan.
