Nigeria: Varsity Student Commits Suicide in Niger

Kelvin Danlami, a 300L student of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, Niger State, has committed suicide on Tuesday.

The late Kelvin was discovered to have hung himself in his room in the early hours of the day.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Niger State Command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

The Police spokesman said: "Information received indicated that in the early hours of the day, one Kelvin Danlami, a student of IBB University Lapai was found to have hanged himself in his room with a cloth tied to the ceiling fan."

LEADERSHIP gathered that the deceased was a Computer Science student of the State-owned university and was allegedly involved in rent payment problems. However, the claim cannot be independent verified as at press time.
