Nigeria: APC Will Retain Dominance in Katsina - Gov Radda

3 February 2026

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has pledged to sustain the All Progressives Congress (APC) political dominance in the state, urging party members to remain united and strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections.

The governor made this known during a major APC stakeholders' gathering where party leaders and members converged to endorse President Bola Tinubu and Governor Radda for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing the large audience of party faithful, Radda said the strength of the APC in Katsina lies in its structure, discipline, and collective sense of purpose.

He urged members at all levels from polling units to state leadership to close ranks and avoid divisions that could weaken the party's position.

Radda described unity not just as a moral appeal but as a political necessity, noting that the APC's continued success in Katsina depends on cooperation among stakeholders, elected officials, and grassroots supporters.

According to him, the impressive turnout of party representatives from across local governments, wards, and polling units at the event was clear evidence that the Katsina APC remains cohesive and well-organised.

He said maintaining this spirit of togetherness would ensure that the party remains firmly in control of the state's political landscape.

Highlighting the party's dominance, the governor pointed to the APC's control of political offices across the state, including local government councils, the State House of Assembly, National Assembly seats, and the governorship.

He said this widespread presence provides a strong foundation for future electoral victories, but warned that complacency must be avoided. Instead, he urged members to strengthen mobilisation efforts and deepen engagement with the grassroots.

The governor thanked party leaders and supporters for their loyalty and sacrifices, assuring them that his administration would continue to work in line with the party's vision while delivering development and good governance to the people of Katsina State.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the APC at all levels and maintaining internal harmony, describing unity as the party's greatest asset.

The event concluded with a formal endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Radda for a second term, as party stakeholders echoed the governor's call to preserve unity and protect the APC's political stronghold in Katsina.
