The new vice-chancellor of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, formerly Benue State University, Prof. Timothy Terseer Alabar, has assumed duties and unveiled plans to reposition the institution for research, growth, infrastructure development and academic excellence.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony at the weekend, Alabar, who conveyed his appreciation to Governor Hyacinth Alia for the confidence reposed in him, pledged to build his administration on three guiding pillars- intelligence, hard work and integrity.
According to a statement from the Information, Publications and Public Relations unit in the
office of the vice-chancellor, Alabar said these values would shape efforts to create a more conducive environment for academic excellence.

He said the core mandate of the university remained teaching, research and community service.
Prof. Alabar assured that student-related matters would receive priority attention, while staff welfare would be strengthened and critical facilities improved to enhance teaching, learning and research activities.
In his remarks, the out-going Acting vice-chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Kenen, thanked the Governing Council chaired by Sir Paul Chukwuma for recommending him to serve as acting vice-chancellor.
He also thanked the governor for approving his appointment.
Reflecting on his tenure, Kenen commended members of the university community for their cooperation, loyalty and support and encouraged them to extend the same goodwill to his successor.
