Who: African Development Bank Group led by the Climate Change Green Growth Department

When: Tuesday 24 February - Friday 27 February 2026

The African Development Bank Group will participate in the Africa Green Economy Summit (AGES) 2026 taking place from 24-27 February 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, sharpening its push to mobilise capital for climate action and accelerate Africa's transition to resilient, low-carbon, and nature-positive growth.

Africa's Green Economy Summit (AGES) is a pan-African dealmaking platform that connects global capital with investment-ready green and blue economy projects across the continent. It convenes investors, policymakers, project developers and partners to move from climate ambition to implementation by accelerating pipelines in sectors like energy, transport, water, waste, agriculture, infrastructure, and climate tech.

Edith Ofwona Adera, Olufunso Somorin and Gerald Njume, all of the Climate Change and Green Growth Department, will represent the Bank Group across the Summit's high-level engagements, investor roundtables, and technical sessions. Their participation will spotlight the Bank's strategic positioning on green investment mobilisation, green jobs, carbon markets, and nature and climate financing, while reinforcing the Bank's role in convening partnerships that connect funds with viable projects across Africa.

Specifically, the Bank Group representatives will:

  • Engage investors and partners through roundtables that connect funds with investable projects and credible delivery partners across Africa.
  • Advance perspectives on carbon and nature financing, including the opportunities and enabling conditions required to expand these markets and unlock new sources of climate finance.
  • Present the Bank's approach to scaling investable platforms, including through the Green Investment Program for Africa, and outline practical pathways for turning ambition into investment-ready pipelines.
  • Support the YouthADAPT Technical Workshop, strengthening youth-led climate enterprises through targeted technical assistance and participation in venture and project pitch sessions across SMEs, infrastructure, and YouthADAPT solutions.
