Liberia: 'Fake' AFL Soldiers Arrested

Monrovia — The Anti-Robbery Unit of the Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested, investigated and charged two. The suspects were apprehended on February 15, 2026 at Barnersville Junction while dressed in full military camouflage uniforms, falsely presenting themselves as members of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL).

According to police reports, the suspects criminally pepper-sprayed a victim, identified as Frank Roberts and made away with his Bajaj motorbike.

Investigations further revealed that the suspects had allegedly been terrorizing peaceful residents in various communities while impersonating as military personnel.

The accused have been charged with Robbery, Theft of Property, Impersonating an official and Criminal Conspiracy. Meanwhile, they have been forwarded to court for prosecution in keeping with Liberian law.
