26 February 2026

- A high-level delegation from the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) has concluded a daylong strategic engagement with local authorities in Maryland County, aimed at identifying and assessing military-owned properties in the area.

The team, which visited Harper, was dispatched by Liberia's Minister of National Defense, Geraldine Janet George, following a directive from President and Commander-in-Chief of the AFL, Joseph N. Boakai.

The engagement, which began on Monday, February 23, 2026, and continued through Wednesday, February 25, 2026, is part of a broader nationwide initiative.

Speaking during the visit, Acting Coast Guard Commander LCRD Kansuah explained that the mission is part of a nationwide exercise mandated by the President for the Defense Ministry to identify all AFL-owned land and submit comprehensive plans for the rehabilitation and construction of military barracks.

Zinnah; Assistant Defense Minister for Public Affairs Oscar F. Mulbah; Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics Lt. Col. Kortu; Engineering Commander Lt. Col. Kokulo; and other senior officers.
