Nigeria: Police Arrest Man With Gun in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested 55-year-old Shuaibu Adams for allegedly being in possession of a firearm.

The command's spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspect was apprehended on February 27, by operatives of the Dragon Patrol Team stationed along the Abraka-Oghara axis of the state.

He noted that the police intercepted the suspect during a routine stop-and-search operation near Western Delta University.

According to the police, a search of the suspect led to the recovery of a locally made, cut-to-size gun concealed inside a pullover bag and loaded with two live cartridges.

According to the spokesperson, the suspect was promptly arrested and remains in custody while investigations are ongoing.
