The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Isma'il Falgore, on Tuesday, presided over the swearing-in of two newly elected lawmakers.

The new members are Sa'adu Aminu Sa'adu, representing Ungogo constituency and Nabil Aliyu Sarki Daneji, representing Kano Municipal constituency.

Both lawmakers emerged victorious in recent by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following vacancies in their constituencies.

Their election was part of supplementary polls held across the state, which brought fresh faces into the Assembly to fill seats left vacant due to earlier legal tussles and political realignments.

They both won the election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and replaced their fathers, who died the same day in December last year.

After taking the oath of office, Sa'adu pledged to work tirelessly for the progress of Ungogo and to defend the interests of the people who entrusted him with their mandate.

Also in his remarks, Daneji assured constituents in Kano Municipal that he and his colleague would strive to discharge their responsibilities faithfully, emphasizing their commitment to meeting the expectations of the electorate.
