Nigeria: Sallah - NSCDC Deploys 2, 350 in Kwara

18 March 2026

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,350 operatives across the state to ensure a peaceful celebration ahead of Eid-el-Fitr.

The directive, approved by State Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, targets the protection of critical national assets and the safety of residents across all the 16 local government areas, amid heightened vigilance during the festive period.

Daily Trust reports that this development comes just days after the Customs Area Command in Ilorin revealed the seizure of over 200 compressors used in the manufacturing of explosives.

According to the command, security coverage is being strategically concentrated around identified flashpoints, high-risk corridors, and other sensitive locations following detailed threat assessments.
