The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State have signalled a strategic realignment ahead of the 2027 governorship election, expressing optimism that the local government, will produce the next governor.

Hammandiram noted that with the level of cooperation and renewed commitment being witnessed, Yola South and Adamawa Central are well positioned to take the centre stage in the next election.

Hammandiram further highlighted the historical significance of Yola in Nigeria's political evolution, noting that the area has long been a hub of major political movements and decisions that often shape broader national discourse.

"Yola has always been a focal point in Nigeria's political history. Major political undercurrents often take root from here, and what we are seeing today is a continuation of that legacy," he added.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Yola South Local Government, Salihu Malkohi, commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for what he described as a bold and strategic political decision to align with the APC, noting that the development has effectively bridged long-standing divides between key political blocs in the state.

According to him, the coming together of APC and influential figures from the PDP marks the beginning of a formidable political structure capable of dominating future elections.

Also speaking, the Adamawa State APC Organising Secretary, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, lauded Governor Fintiri's political foresight and commitment to strengthening democratic processes.

He described the ongoing alignment between APC and former PDP stakeholders as the emergence of a powerful political force.

"With the coalescing of APC and PDP elements, what we now have is a political juggernaut that will be very difficult to defeat," Ribadu stated.
