The African Development Bank Group will host the 10th edition of the African Energy Market Place (AEMP), in Libreville, Gabon, from 8-9 April 2026.

With the theme, "Stakeholder Consultation on the National Energy Compact to deliver Mission 300", the event will serve as a platform for consultation and dialogue on the draft Gabon Mission 300 National Energy Compact, bringing together key stakeholders and partners to shape a coherent national roadmap for Gabon's energy transition.

The Africa Energy Market Place (AEMP) is a collaborative investment platform created by the African Development Bank to aid private investments in the energy sector by bringing together governments, the private sector, and development partners.

This tenth edition, in Gabon, is being convened to support Mission 300, the joint initiative of the World Bank and the African Development Bank Group to connect 300 million additional Africans to electricity by 2030.

Discussions at the consultation will be structured around five core pillars:

  1. Expanding generation and network infrastructure at competitive costs.
  2. Leveraging the benefits of increased regional integration.
  3. Embracing distributed renewable energy (DRE) and clean cooking solutions to expand affordable energy access across Gabon.
  4. Incentivising private sector participation to unlock additional resource.
  5. Ensuring financially viable utilities that provide affordable and reliable services.
