On 30 March 2026, the African Development Bank Group will launch the 2026 edition of its Africa's Macroeconomic Performance and Outlook (MEO) report at its headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
Published biannually in the first and fourth quarters of the year, the MEO report provides Africa's policymakers, researchers, global investors, and other development partners with up-to-date estimates and forward-looking projections of the performance and prospects of African economies, complementing the Bank's flagship African Economic Outlook (AEO) report.
The Africa's Macroeconomic Performance and Outlook Report addresses the critical need for timely economic data amid global uncertainty, providing evidence-based insights into economic trends across the continent and its short- to medium-term outlook. Against the backdrop of persistent global and regional shocks, the 2026 report highlights the broad-based nature of Africa's economic growth in 2025, and advocates bold policy actions to sustain recovery and mitigate risks.
The launch will feature remarks by Dr Sidi Ould Tah, President of the African Development Bank Group, and a presentation by Prof Kevin C. Urama, the Bank Group's Chief Economist and Vice President for Economic Governance and Knowledge Management. This will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives of African governments and international financial institutions.
The event will provide attendees, including development partners, civil society, researchers, think tanks, academic institutions, and the media, with an opportunity to engage with government officials, and senior executives of the African Development Bank Group and the African Union Commission, for insights into Africa's macroeconomic climate.
