The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has constituted a committee to strategise with major political parties and find a suitable platform for the state governor, Bala Mohammed.
The formation of the new committee followed a PDP stakeholders' meeting at the weekend at the Bauchi Government House where party captains at both state and local levels sought the formation of the body.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, the state chairman of the PDP, Pharm. Sama'ila Adamu Burga said the committee was expected to within seven days chart a new political platform for the governor ahead of the 2027 polls.
Burga said, "As enshrined by His Excellency the executive governor of Bauchi State, especially at a prime time like this, you will see us meeting regularly. His Excellency is doing "stakeholding" specifically to make sure that everybody is taken along.

"No single person can make an island, hence the movement of the governor is exceptional where every decision is subject to scrutiny by stakeholders in the state.
"We are on course in trying to see where we are going to go, looking at what happens to our party and other smaller parties that are trying to discuss where they are heading, it is also very palatable, but a small committee has been set up to into every possibility."
The PDP chairman thanked all members of the party across the state, saying as a political party it was looking at the convergence of members at the stakeholders' meeting, and called on members not to disappoint the governor.
Burga urged members of the committee mandated to prepare their collective exit and the possibility of joining anywhere with what the sitting would be looking for.
