- House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon has publicly endorsed the development record of Montserrado County District 8 Representative Prince Toles, telling residents at a community event over the weekend that the lawmaker's current projects should be rewarded with political support in 2029.

Speaking at the dedication of a newly constructed event hall in Jallah Town, Koon invoked the susu, a traditional informal savings arrangement in which participants contribute regularly and take turns receiving the full pool, to describe what he characterized as Toles' investment in the district.

"All he's doing now is putting susu," Koon said. "2029 will be his time to eat."

The Speaker dismissed criticism of the lawmaker and urged residents to judge him on results. "Forget what people say, whether they call him a bluff boy or pretty boy, look at his deliverables in just two years and some months," he said.

The event hall, constructed alongside a police station and other community projects, forms part of Toles' legislative development programme since taking office. In his remarks, Toles called on residents to take ownership of the facility.

"This building is for you, the people," he said. "Take care of it. Make it your own."

Residents at the ceremony praised the lawmaker's record. Randall Dweh, Head of the District Eight Communities Alliance, said the district had seen more development under Toles than under previous representatives.

"Only government toilets we knew from past lawmakers, but now in just two years, we didn't know we could get this kind of building," Dweh said. "Thank you, Honorable Toles. We will pay you 2029."

The dedication comes as Liberia's political class begins early positioning ahead of the 2029 legislative elections.
