Nigeria: Lone Crash - 4 Die, 8 Injured On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command, has confirmed the death of four persons in a lone accident in front of Christopher University on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The command's Public Relations Officer, Mr Afolabi Odunsi, in a statement on Monday in Abeokuta, said that eight others sustained injuries.

Odunsi said the accident involved a commercial Toyota Hiace bus with registration number AGL 789 YL, which occurred at 1: 30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to him, a total of 13 persons were involved in the accident, comprising 11 adult males and two adult females.

Odunsi explained that preliminary investigation indicated that the accident was caused by a burst tyre and speed violation, which made the driver lose control of the vehicle.

The PRO added that the injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital for medical treatment, while the bodies of the dead were deposited at the Idera morgue. (NAN)
