The African Development Bank will host its Civil Society Open Day on Thursday, 9 April 2026, in Gaborone, Botswana. This hybrid event will bring together civil society organisations and government representatives to raise awareness and foster dialogue on the key highlights of the host country's Strategy Paper (2022-2026), and its existing portfolio with CSOs as key stakeholders in achieving Botswana's development objectives.
Thematic sessions will focus on three cross-cutting priorities: the Civil Society Engagement Action Plan 2024-2028; the draft Economic Competitiveness and Transformation Support (ECTSP - PBO) Programme for Botswana; and the Youth, Jobs and Skills Marker System.
A central outcome of the event will be the launch of a new tripartite dialogue platform to strengthen strategic cooperation between the Bank, the Government of Botswana, and civil society organisations.
Why Attend?
CSO Open Days are a vital channel through which the Bank amplifies the voices of civil society across its Regional Member States. This gathering offers a unique platform for participants to gain direct insight into the Bank's Country Strategy Paper (2024-2029) priority areas and operational portfolio. It will create an opportunity for participants to collaborate with a view to contributing towards Botswana's sustainable and inclusive growth.
Attendee contributions will directly inform the Bank's efforts to improve project delivery quality and advance inclusive, sustainable development.
This event is co-organised by the Bank's Civil Society & Community Engagement Division in partnership with the Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (BOCONGO).
