Nigeria: Yilwatda Urges Unity Among APC Leaders in Bauchi

22 April 2026

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has called for greater unity among party leaders in Bauchi State, commending efforts to reinforce grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections.

Yilwatda gave the charge during the handover of 24 buses donated by Dr. Bala Maijama'a Wunti to APC structures across the state. The vehicles, distributed to local government chairmen, zonal coordinators, and the state secretariat, are aimed at improving outreach and strengthening party operations at the grassroots level.

The APC chairman described the donation as both strategic and timely, noting that it reflects strong loyalty to the party and alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. He added that such initiatives demonstrate a clear understanding of grassroots politics and the importance of building strong local structures.

Represented at the event by the National Vice Chairman (Northeast), Barrister Idris Shuaibu, Yilwatda urged party stakeholders to remain united, assuring them of fairness and inclusiveness as preparations gradually begin for upcoming electoral contests.

Wunti, who is eyeing the APC governorship ticket in Bauchi for 2027, said the intervention was part of efforts to strengthen the party's operational capacity and expand its reach across communities.

Also speaking, Bauchi State APC Chairman, Hon. Hassan Tilde--represented by the Bauchi South Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Abdulmumini Kundak--called on beneficiaries to ensure the vehicles are used strictly for party activities. He noted that the donation would ease mobility challenges and boost grassroots engagement.

Similarly, the Chief Executive Officer of BWSO, Arch. Mukhtar Jarmajo, described the initiative as a meaningful contribution to democratic development. He emphasized that strong political parties are essential to effective governance and citizen participation.

The donation is seen as a significant step in consolidating APC's presence in Bauchi State, while reinforcing calls for unity and collective commitment toward future electoral success.
