Nigeria: Gov Idris Asks Elected Politicians to Serve Constituents

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has appealed to elective officials, particularly federal and state assembly members in the state to provide the dividends of democracy to their constituents

He made the appeal at the presentation of items worth N200 million naira provided by the House of Representatives member representing Dandi/Arewa constituency, Hon Garba Rabiu Kamba, to people of Kamba town under Dandi local government area of the state.

Idris said, "I want every member either from national or state assemblies to emulate such kind gesture done by this member, Hon Garba Kamba, to his constituents "

The items include bags of rice, millet and maize as well as farm inputs.

The governor warned he beneficiaries against selling the items, saying anyone found doing so would be arrested and prosecuted.
