Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has ordered all political appointees in the state to return to their respective local government areas ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections for the 2027 general elections.
The governor gave the directive on Wednesday during the State's Executive Council meeting held at the newly inaugurated digital Council Chamber of the Katsina State Government House.
Radda said the month of May would be dedicated largely to party activities, including screening exercises and primary elections for aspirants seeking to contest elective positions on the APC platform. He instructed all appointees to actively participate in the exercise at the grassroots level in line with directives from the party leadership.
According to the governor, the success of the primaries would depend on the commitment, cooperation and discipline of party members and stakeholders across the state.

We expect all political appointees to take part actively and ensure that peace and order are maintained throughout the process," he said.
The governor also stressed the need for peaceful conduct during the screening and primary election exercises, warning against actions capable of creating disunity or tension within the party.
