Nigeria: 2027 - Ropshik Cleared for PDP Plateau Governorship Primary

14 May 2026

The Peoples Democratic Party has screened and cleared Kefiano Ropshik to contest its Plateau State governorship primary ahead of 2027.

The screening exercise took place at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, as the party prepares for its primaries.

Speaking to journalists after the exercise, Ropshik described the development as another step in his bid to govern Plateau State.

"Earlier today, I was at PDP Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, for my screening exercise, another significant stride in this noble journey to serve the good people of Plateau State as their Governor," he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented leadership and sustainable development across the state, adding, "The vision is clear, the resolve is unwavering, and the mission continues. #PlateauFirst."

The clearance now positions Ropshik to contest in the forthcoming primary, where delegates will select the party's candidate for the 2027 governorship race.

Supporters and stakeholders have expressed optimism over his ambition, saying his entry reflects growing calls for visionary and inclusive leadership in Plateau State.
