Nigeria: Video - Two Construction Workers Fall From Rooftop During Site Fight, One Feared Dead

19 May 2026

A disturbing video circulating widely on social media has sparked concern after showing two construction workers falling from the roof of an unfinished building during a violent altercation, with one of the workers feared dead.

The footage, which gained traction on Monday, captures one worker dressed in an orange outfit and another wearing a white shirt and trousers exchanging blows while standing on the exposed roof frame of a building under construction.

As the fight intensifies, both men lose their balance and tumble from the elevated structure, landing separately on the ground below.

The worker in white appears to strike the ground face-first. In the background, voices can be heard shouting in Yoruba, "Toheeb hit his head on the ground," as onlookers rush toward the scene.

The shocking footage has triggered widespread reactions online, with many users expressing grief and disbelief over how a fight escalated into a potentially fatal accident.

Others used the incident to highlight the dangers of horseplay and violent confrontations at construction sites, where workers often operate at significant heights with little margin for error.

While the exact circumstances leading to the altercation remain unclear, the incident has reignited conversations about construction safety and the devastating consequences of losing control in dangerous workplaces.
