A new Competition and Consumer Protection Bill will be tabled before the National Assembly in the forthcoming joint session. What are the provisions of this Bill? Many businesses, particularly small and medium-size businesses, do complain to Foroyaa of unfair trade practices and monopoly by mighty and powerful businesses. Consumers are always complaining about high and unfair prices by companies and other businesses that want to make super profit, especially in times scarcity. Consumers also complain about low quality of goods and services and expired food.
How does the Bill intend to handle these issues? What structures, mechanisms and enforcement regime will be at play?
Foroyaa will study the Bill and make its comments.
