As part of the ongoing campaign for the 2027 elections, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, is set to unveil his governance blueprint to tackle poverty and insecurity across the country.

In a statement in Abuja on Sunday, the Presidential candidate said the document which will be presented to the people on Tuesday "will provide Nigerians with a detailed insight into its vision for the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election."

The blueprint crafted to tackle Poverty and Insecurity, the SDP said "places the twin challenges of poverty and insecurity at the centre of the SDP's proposed governance agenda, while outlining strategies for accelerated national development between 2027 and 2031."

The blueprint is entitled "Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity: Governance & Accelerated Development - Blueprint of a New Nigeria, 2027-2031, put together by the Presidential candidate to drive his 2027 campaigns.

SDP said the document is more than a campaign manifesto, with its title signalling "SDP's ambition to offer a comprehensive policy alternative focused on tackling the economic and security pressures confronting millions of Nigerians."

The statement said Adebayo has consistently made poverty reduction, economic opportunity, security and effective governance central to his political message and he is "expected to explain the policy framework and how his administration would translate the blueprint into concrete programmes if elected president in 2027

SDP explained that the blueprint is set to frame the 2027 contest around a fundamental question: "whether Nigeria can move from managing poverty and insecurity to deliberately eliminating their root causes.

"The public presentation is therefore expected to offer Nigerians an opportunity to examine, in detail, the policies and programmes the SDP intends to deploy in its quest to build what it describes as "a new Nigeria."
