On 16 September 2026, the African Development Bank will host its Civil Society Open Day in Mauritius, bringing together civil society representatives, government officials, and African Development Bank staff to foster dialogue on the Bank's country strategy and investment portfolio in Mauritius.
The agenda will include:
- Discussions on the African Development Bank Group's Civil Society Engagement Action Plan (2024-2028), and on the implementation of its Ten-Year Strategy 2024-2033, the "Four Cardinal Points," and Mauritius's National Development Programme
- Launch of a new tripartite dialogue platform designed to strengthen strategic cooperation between the Bank, the Government of Mauritius, and civil society organizations
The Bank's Deputy Director General for Southern Africa, who also oversees the Mauritius Country Office, Ms. Moono Mupotola, and the Manager of the Bank's Civil Society and Community Engagement Division, Ms. Zeneb Touré, will chair the opening ceremony alongside representatives of the Government and civil society of Mauritius.
This Open Day serves as a vital channel for amplifying the voices of civil society stakeholders and ensuring that citizens remain at the center of Bank-financed development initiatives.
Participants will gain first-hand insight into the Bank's operations, share feedback, and help strengthen the impact of development interventions in Mauritius.
