Nigeria: Zulum, Yahaya Commission Road Projects in Gombe

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum alongside his Gombe State counterpart, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Sunday, commissioned several projects in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State.

The projects commissioned include roads and bridge projects in Kwami Local Government Area, the Kwami West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Secretariat in Bojude, and Bojude and Daban Fulani District Head Palaces.

Speaking at the commissioning of Kwami West LCDA in Bojude, Governor Yahaya said creation of 13 LCDAs were part of his administration's commitment to bringing governance closer to the people and ensuring even development across the state.

He noted that the creation of LCDAs was meant to bring government closer to the people, hence the need to provide befitting secretariats for effective administration.

"What we are witnessing today is a demonstration of our resolve to ensure that no community is left behind. These roads and bridges will ease movement and boost economic activities, while the traditional institutions remain a critical pillar for peace and stability," Yahaya said.

He commended the people of Kwami LGA and Kwami West LCDA, for their support and thanked Governor Zulum for honouring the invitation to co-commission the projects.

In his remarks, Governor Zulum, commended Governor Yahaya for what he described as purposeful leadership and visible transformation of Gombe State.

Zulum said he was impressed with the quality and spread of projects executed by the Inuwa Yahaya's administration, especially in the rural areas.

He urged the benefiting communities to safeguard the projects and continue to support the government for more dividends of democracy.

Governor Zulum noted that strengthening traditional institutions and improving rural infrastructure were essential ingredients for sustainable peace and development in the North-East.
