Nigeria: Bandits Kill 3 in Kebbi Community

8 October 2026

An attack by bandits on Kasabo, a community in Saminaka, Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has left three people dead.

The community was reportedly attacked in the early hours of Monday this week.

A local, Aminu Salisu, who spoke to our correspondent, said the attackers came in large numbers but luckily, many residents were able to escape through the bush.

"However, they succeeded in killing three people before they retreated to their hideout," he said.

During a condolence visit to the community on Tuesday, Governor Nasir Idris described the incident as a tragic and unacceptable act of violence against innocent citizens.

While donating the sum of N116m to the families of the victims and the people of the community, he assured that his administration would continue to strengthen collaboration with security agencies and take all necessary measures to protect the lives and property of the people.

Responding, Dan Masani of Saminaka, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir, said that the killing was a great loss to the community.
