Nigeria: Dino Melaye Leads Crowd in 'Allah Ya Isa' Chant Against Tinubu in Kebbi

5 November 2026

Senator Dino Melaye has led supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in chanting "Allah Ya Isa" against President Bola Tinubu during a political rally in Kebbi State.

Melaye, who serves as the Deputy Director-General (Contact and Mobilisation) of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, was captured in a video circulating on social media leading the crowd in the chant.

Addressing supporters at the rally, the former senator compared the alleged expenditure on Service-Wide Votes (SWV) under the administrations of former President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu.

"During Buhari's administration, he spent only ₦6 trillion on Service-Wide Votes in eight years, but Tinubu has spent ₦26 trillion in just three years. Isn't this enough for us to sing 'Ole, Ole, Ole'?" he asked, prompting the crowd to join the chant.

Melaye subsequently called on the crowd to chant "Allah Ya Isa" three times against Tinubu, with supporters echoing the expression.

He then urged them to add one more chant, saying, "Add one more extra for him."

"Allah Ya Isa" is a Hausa expression commonly used by people seeking divine intervention or justice when they feel wronged, cheated or oppressed. It conveys an appeal to God as the ultimate judge when human avenues for justice appear inadequate.
