Cote d'Ivoire: Trafigura Appeal Opens

An appeal against a million-euro fine on multinational oil trader Trafigura for the illegal export of toxic waste later dumped in Ivory Coast after a stopover in the Netherlands, started on Monday.

Two boys scavenge at dumpsite in Abidjan. Residents have complained of symptoms they feared were linked to the 2006 dumping of toxic waste.
