VIDEO: A Chibok Girl's Story

At least 219 girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram militants in April 2014. On the second anniverary of their kidnapping, the peacebuilding charity International Alert has released photos and footage of some of the girls whom they are helping, with the help of UNICEF, to re-integrate into communities. "With more victims now returning from captivity," says Kimairis Toogood of International Alert in Nigeria, "we are appealing to the international community and the Nigerian government to do more now to support efforts to re-integrate them, and ensure they can build a life for themselves and their children."

17-year-old Aisha was abducted by Boko Haram in 2014, married off and later had a baby. The kindness of a stranger helped her survive the ordeal, and learn to love her baby. She was rescued after a Nigerian Army raid in 2015.
