Midwifery to Combat Nigeria's Appalling Mother & Child Mortality

With Nigeria accounting for the second largest number of maternal and child deaths in the world, a coalition of organizations led by The Wellbeing Foundation Africa convened the first Global Midwifery Conference in Nigeria to focus on key practice areas that can contribute towards saving lives.Two hastags were launched during the meeting - #MamaCare and #MamaKind - joining #MaternalMonday to raise awareness on maternal, newborn and child health issues.
