Renowned Senegalese Sculptor Ousmane Sow Dies

Ousmane Sow was best known for his monumental sculptures of Nubian wrestlers inspired by the pictures taken in Sudan by the controversial German photographer Leni Riefenstahl. He became the first African to be elected a member of France's renowned Academie des Beaux-Arts.
