Can West African Leaders Make Gambian President Accept Election?

A West African delegation headed by Liberia's President Ellen John Sirleaf met with Gambian President Yahya Jammeh to persuade him to accept defeat in last week's election. The delegation included Nigeria's Muhammadu Buhari, Sierra Leone's Ernest Bai Koroma and Ghana's John Mahama. Meanwhile, Gambian security forces seized control of the election commission headquarters. Following the visit Sirleaf said negotiations would continue and no agreement has yet been reached.
