Nigerian Court Rules Against Mass Evictions in Lagos

A Lagos High Court judge has ruled that the forcible eviction of tens of thousands of people from Otodo-Gbame in the city is unconstitutional. The judge said the rights of those evicted had been violated as there was no resettlement plan in place.

Amnesty International said a Lagos court had granted an interim injunction against demolitions in communities including Otodo Gbame.
