Fears of Political Violence Rise Ahead of Zimbabwe Election

The Movement for Democratic Change led by Morgan Tsvangirai has appealed to the UN, SADC and the AU to intervene in Zimbabwe to avoid a repeat of the 2008 election violence as the Southern African country gears up for elections next year. President Robert Mugabe has called for his Zanu-PF supporters to 'beat-up people going around perpetrating violence using the ruling party's name'.
