Arrests, Petrol Bombs at South African University Protests

Police have confirmed the arrests of 28 security guards at the  Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). This comes after two student protesters were released on bail after being arrested for public violence. Protests at the Cape Town campus for CPUT saw demonstrators disrupt lectures and throw petrol bombs while police responded with stun grenades.

Students could not enter the Keizersgracht Street campus of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
