Africa's Economic Growth Rides on Wireless Rails - Bloomberg
Wireless communication is driving economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa much as the railroad did in the 19th-century U.S., accounting for almost a tenth of global mobile subscribers and a growth rate that's beating the world, writes Matthew A. Winkler, who is co-hosting this year's Africa Business Media Innovators Summit in Ghana. More than 100 senior executives, entrepreneurs and thought-leaders from media, tech, business and civil society met in November to discuss the changing face of media and new hybrid models.
