Authorities in Ethiopia's Somali region have released about 1,500 people from prison, the latest attempt to ease long-running political tensions. This brings the total number released within the last month to 6,000.
The Ethiopian government has pardoned 746 prisoners, including prominent opposition figure Andualem Arage and journalist Eskinder Nega.
