Namibian Women Out In the Cold In Mining, Other Sectors

The Mines and Energy Deputy Minister, Kornelia Shilunga has said that less than 1% of women are involved in the mining of tin, tantalum and the selling semi-precious stones. This as the Swapo Party's women's council plans to compel the government to prioritise women when allocating tenders for development projects, fishing quotas as well as housing and mining ventures.
