Former South African President Zuma Braces for Corruption Trial

Former president Jacob Zuma is to appear in the Durban High Court today, The prosecution team will be headed by Advocate Billy Downer, who led the National Prosecuting Authority's investigation into the controversial multibillion-rand arms deal and prosecuted Schabir Shaik, Zuma's former financial adviser, between 2004 and 2006. Zuma faces 16 charges relating to 783 payments which he allegedly received in connection with the arms deal.
