Abattoirs in Tanzania Fall Far Below Hygiene Standards - Report

The Controller and Auditor General's report has revealed that at least 98% of abattoirs in the country are not registered and are unhygienic. The report also reveals that the country faces a shortage of meat inspectors and the existing inspectors are required to inspect between 100 and 155 slaughtered animals daily.
